Think Vertical

Like many in the search marketing game, I've got a long list of potential projects and little time to undertake most of them. One project that has been creeping up the list in terms of importance of late is "building a vertical search engine". There's one particular lucrative demographic I can think of that has been overlooked in the online world. Actually, there's probably hundreds of 'em.

Note to self: Get a move on.

Nick points to an article about how the VC's are starting to get interested in vertical search. And well they might. Vertical can provide excellent targeting and relevance without the overhead general search engines typically encounter.

Rebirth of the portal, anyone? They never went away, really.
