The World Doesn't Need More Search Engines
Like many search bloggers, I get sent press releases about "exciting" new search engines. On a daily basis.
Thing is, unless a search engine comes along that is head and shoulders better than Google, Yahoo or MSN, then what is the point? Incremental features? Mash-up results? An amusing logo? The world doesn't need any more search engines - it needs better answers. Solve that problem and they'll make a killing.
From now on press releases about this weeks' latest Google-killer (unless they really, really are Google-killers) are going straight where they belong - in the trash folder.
Rant ends...
