Web 2.0 Reality Check

Andrew Goodman suggests Web 2.0 people get over themselves. People are too busy for the latest valley-geek "must have".

A good friend of mine has this theory: adults are more likely to adopt new tech if it replaces something they *already* do, and makes that something easier/better/faster/cheaper. For example, email is a replacement for writing letters. Word is a replacement for the typewriter. Cars were a replacement for horse and carriage etc.

Most Web 2.0 apps are inventions waiting for necessity to mother them.
