MS may be about to launch something similar (maybe) to Google Base, called Fremont.
Not very clear, eh.
It's hard to tell if Fremont will be similar, as I haven't seen it. Admittedly, this post says virtually nothing, however I just really, really wanted to use the title "Freebase". Heh.
