High Barrier To Entry In Search Market

I receive press releases about new search engines on a daily basis.

I tend to bin them.

Do start-up search engines that fail to bring anything radically new to the existing search model stand much of a chance? While the big three are doing a good job, why would anyone change? Is it really possible to offer a significantly better search service for start-up money?

I keep an open mind however I don't fancy their chances. This article on News.com asks: Can there be another Google?
