Free Speech

The search engines are being taken to task over their willingness to bend over so long as there's a few yuan involved. The same could be said for many other businesses, obviously.

The congress is on the right track: the right to free speech must be upheld. But how much of this debate is empty rhetoric? Will China even bat an eyelid, especially when you consider that much of the US media is self-censoring to quite astonishing levels, and haven't required any legislation to do so, only a complete lack of spine.

Hopefully they'll all cut the crap and make a stand on principle. The world certainly needs that right now.
