Chinese users are, in true Internet fashion, routing around the Google ban.

What's happening to DayPop? Our favorite news engine seems to be having teething problems.

We're road testing a larger font. Seems our optically challenged readers (not mentioning any names Brett ) prefer their news "go large". So here we are in 12 point Arial glory. Thanks to web design goddess Sophie for her advice and keen eye. Onya!

And finally today, we reflect on the power of the link.

There we were, toiling away in our own tiny corner of the 'net, signing up a small, yet respectable number of subscribers each day. Then BAM! One link sends our humble blog rocketing to web stardom. Well, not quite, but that's what it felt like.

We're humbled by all the attention. We now have a mailing list that reads like a who's who of the tech/search marketing community. And it's growing like crazy...

So thanks to all of you and welcome aboard. A quick introduction - we started this blog as we were fed up with reading tired, automated news-feeds chock full of press releases. So we decided to write a tired, human powered news feed chock full of press releases instead. To quote DMOZ, we just think "humans do it better".

Each day, we seek out search marketing news, put a (hopefully) amusing spin on it all, then link up. Not rocket science, not original, but it seems to work and people seem to enjoy reading it. Also, if any of our esteemed readers have link suggestions, please send them in and we'll share 'em. No promises, mind ;)

So all praise the link. And that man Sullivan.

Google blocked in China, China denies all knowledge, Google negotiates with China to get ban lifted. Politics, eh? Meanwhile Google results via Yahoo are *still* available.

Can Yahoo make 'em (think that means us, people) pay?

Yahoo extends Real Networks deal. Yahoo betting on higher broadband takeup.

Our e-mail subscription is working again. Sorry to all those who experienced problems.

And finally today, land an emu.

That man Sullivan mentions us in his newsletter and our stats go through the roof. Thanks Sir Danny, glad we made you laugh :)

A look at why portals, including Yahoo, are still useful.

Pandia reports that AltaVista no longer supports the meta keyword tag.

AltaVista site is apparently showing some PPC style ads.

Sven Claessens kindly sent us an e-mail informing us that we can "make real money NOW using our computer!!!". You heard it here first.

And finally today, cementing the recording industry's occupation of the moral high ground, a record company releases a CD about UFOs. Makes a change from lynching downloaders, we suppose.

Google allegedly blocked in China. Ironically, secondary Google results via Yahoo are still available.

Shock! Someone makes a post regarding Looksmart in an seo discussion forum. Been a while since that happened...

Google eye up new premises.

The Google logo has disappeared from Yahoo secondary results. Google now gets a mention in text form. Changes afoot?

And finally today, Junk Science. "All the junk that's fit to debunk".

Part II of the Fredrick Marckini interview on "The state of search engine marketing".

Google hires new CFO.

Chris Sherman investigates why search engines fail.

Shock! Analyst upgrades a high-tech stock - in this case Yahoo. Merrill Lynch "raises (their) intermediate-term opinion on the Internet firm from "reduce/sell" to "neutral"".

On Friday, we mentioned we wanted to be number 1 on Google for the term "post modern marketing". Ask and you shall receive. Damn Google are fast!

And finally today, what do you get if you let your cat listen to your White Stripes CD?
