SEOOne(More)ForTheRoadShow: The first Seoroadshow was held in London over the weekend. It was very, very good. I'm not going to attempt to do it justice by summarising it, other than to say a lot was drunk, the talk went on all day, a lot was drunk, the talk went on all night, a lot was drunk, and I'm still meeting up with people I didn't get to talk to enough. Besides, there is more drinkng to be done. Big themes - generosity, friendship and the knowledge that we have a great search community. Personal highlight - meeting the people I've talked to for so long but had never actually met up until now. And Ralph still has the best beard in search.
PS: I'm still on the road, so I'll put down a few more thoughts when I return. Emails may go unanswered for a little while.
Disappearing act: AskJeeves has left the building (thx WMW)
Yahoo Dance: Yahoo buys MusicMatch. Also at Yahoo, Danny Sullivan blogs.
Funny: More unusual SEMPO maneuvers. Mike Grehan on the case.
So long: I'll be visiting London, and Seattle, over the next few weeks, so this blog will go quiet for a little while. I'll post a report on SeoRoadshow this coming weekend. Hopefully I'll be sober enough to hold a camera straight (unlikely). Talk at you soon :)
Resigned: Danny Sullivan and Chris Sherman have resigned from SEMPO. What more needs to be said.
SeoRoadshow: Ye-olde style PubConference in London. I'm attending, so if you're a reader, please say hello. Nice to put faces to IP addresses.
Barry Lloyd Part 2: Part two of last weeks interview. Part one here.
SEMPO : Requests for information, and still no official word on what's going on. Whispers across the ether hint at "interesting" developments soon. Can say no more, neither confirm nor deny. etc. Watch the web space.
Fantomaster spotted: Ralph re-emerges at SEW to discuss cloaking. Nice to see him back.
Most search phrases are unique: According to Amit Singhal, principal scientist at Google, over 50 percent of the 200 million searches performed a day have never been searched before. Good discussion at SEW
Search Marketing growing up: Article looks at how the SEM market is about to "go large".
Portal or not to portal: Google should be a portal. Google should not be a portal.
