It's a public holiday where I am, so I'm looking forward to the day off and getting outside. Just look at the weather outside my window this morning...

Wellington, New Zealand 10.05am. No hobbits or orcs in sight...

Hot!

Servicemark infringement on Google Adwords and Overture , new search appliance from Thunderstone claims to "outperform others by 10 times". Can't possibly think who the "others" are...

Danny Sullivan looks to put an end to the cloaking debate. Of all commentators, Danny is the closest to the truth on cloaking, IMHO.

And finally, Plum Crazy - Home of the centre wing conspiracy.

Will Overture raise their minimum bid prices shortly?

Overture secure two year deal with espn.com. Interesting quote "For (overture) this is another direct win against Google".

We saw glimpses of it this week - Yahoo to provide ad boxes (supplied by Overture) on the right hand side of search results. Analysts applaud, especially those holding OV stock.

Welcome to Dave of IRL ;). You're famous now.

Try as we might, we cannot get this song out of our heads. "Running through my head....". Catchy.

Ralph responds to Christina on the topic of SEO Ethics: Hype & Hypocrisy.

Finally, shuttle canna change the laws of physics.

Search engines really do get it in the neck sometimes. First there is SK with Google, now there's a schoolboy who has been suspended for telling AskJeeves exactly what he thinks of them.

Ye olde cloaking debates sprung up again last week. Some feel that instances of cloaking aren't really cloaking, while others maintain that cloaking has always been cloaking, irrespective of what some pundits are now trying to call it. Confused? You soon will be. Here's a good debate on same - unfortunately some other fine debates on this topic went on behind closed doors.

Those of you who use Mailwasher can download a comprehensive set of filters. New beta version available too.

Finally, patron saint of the internet required.

Today our guest in the interview chair is Chris Ridings. Chris is the author of "Page Rank Uncovered", and is a regular commentator on all things SEO.

Whoa! This site got in an interview with Fast before we did. A fine read.

A few interesting threads over at WMW that SEOs should know about - "Google ditches image alt tag" and "Spiders out in force" and Brett's excellent "Cloaking has come full circle". Elsewhere, Doug Heil takes the novel approach of suggesting Danny Sullivan "don't know what the difference is" with regard to cloaking. Whatever next?

Our spell checker suggests "cease" for "SEOs". Some search engines might get a laugh out of that.

Finally, Mac vs Windows. Who cares?
