Hulu is a website that allows you to watch a variety of quality movies as well as TV shows free of charge. Watching Hulu movies is free, easy and completely legal. Currently, Hulu has approximately 250 movie clips in a variety of genres available for viewing.
To watch movies on Hulu, go to the website at Hulu.com. You can then click on the menu tab for “Movies” and start browsing for films you’d like to watch. The menu on the Movies page organizes movie listings by Channels, Popular Movies, Documentaries or Browse Movies. You can also watch Trailers or use the search bar to find movies.
If you scroll down below the viewing screen, you’ll find vertical listings of a variety of types of movies, including Popular Feature Films, Popular Trailers, Recently Added Movies, Documentaries, and below Documentaries you’ll find Action and Adventure and Comedies.
You can mouse over each film for more information on the movie such as air date, rating, user rating by stars and a brief synopsis. Clicking the “More” button at the bottom of each categories listing provides more movie options. To watch a movie, simply click on the Play arrow in the center of the movie’s clip caption.
You can watch most of Hulu’s movies without creating an account, but with an account you’ll have access to more movies plus additional features. Movies intended for “mature audiences” require you to have a Hulu account for viewing.
To sign up for Hulu, click the Sign Up button in the top right corner of any page. The registration form asks for your email address, and you’ll need to create a password. Then enter you full name, date of birth, city and state, zip code and gender. Hulu is only available to US residents.
You’ll need to agree to Hulu’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and complete the scrambled words section to finish registering. You may choose to answer several Optional Questions before you complete registration.
After completing the registration, you’re free to browse and watch all of the movies on Hulu.
Creating a Hulu account allows you to enjoy some extra movie watching features. Registered users can:
- Create a video queue so you have films available for future viewing.
- Rate movies, provide user reviews and participate in Hulu’s discussion boards.
- Create and personalize your own public Hulu profile page.
- Use the “Activate resume play” feature that allows you to pick up where you left off previously with any movie as long as you’re using the same computer.
- View “mature audience” content movies.
Hulu is popular with movie lovers because it is not only free but safe and legal to use. Advertisements are included in movies, but there are far fewer ads than on regular TV.
You do not need to download any software to watch Hulu movies. The only basic requirements are an Internet connection, Flash Player 9.0 or higher and enabled JavaScript.
