Search Engines are picking up steam.
This article
suggests search engines are the saviors of the online
marketing industry.
Ah....who cares about search right
now, there's a war on. Whether you're for the war or
against, the past few weeks have revealed the strange
machinations of U.S. foreign policy.
It's interesting to note that Saddam
Hussein, an evil dictator with curious hygiene habits,
has shown himself to be a rather adept strategist and
diplomat.
Bush, on the other hand, has succeeded
in alienating many long-term U.S. allies, forged a massive
rift in the UN alliance, and appears to have set the
U.S. on the path of self-isolationism. This article
looks at why
the U.S. is like Spain

Censorship - how it works".
Search
Engines target weblogs. Making sense of nonsense
;)
Christina Buu-Hoan looks at privacy
issues on the internet. Tips for those who do not
want to be Googled.
Finally, US
citizens look outside the US media for less "timid"
reporting.

Google
grows...and grows...and grows. Innovative new web
idea: build a product people like to use. Create value.
It's like the dot.com boom never happened.
As the free world takes up an armchair,
grabs something from the refrigerator and settles down
to watch the WW3 carnage on the box, spare a thought
for a talking fish. Apparently, God has shown
up as a fish and doesn't like what's going down.
Strange world, this.
Andrew Goodman (who will be showing
up here shortly) takes a look at AdWords
content targeting. Nice article.
Finally, the buzzword for big media
today is pneumonia.

Tired
of Google? This article suggests a backlash may
be creeping into the mainstream.
ClickTracks, the site analysis tool
which we featured last week, is proving popular. For
those who missed it, see our interview with ClickTracks
CEO John Marshall, who explains how Search Marketers
can use this tool to help prove their real worth to
their clients.
We've got one of our biggest interviews
coming up next week. It's good. It's very good. Stay
tuned.
Search
engine referrals have almost doubled since last
year, according to recent study.
Finally, there's a war going on. No,
not *that* war, we're talking a far more hostile war
with no end in sight. It's the war between graphic
designers and usability consultants.

An alert reader pointed out "what
happened to updated daily?". Erm, yes. Sometimes
nothing is happening out there, and at other times there's
too much happening at my office. This week has been
one of those weeks.
Google IPO speculation is rearing
it's head again. Time will tell....
Google
picks Ireland for the site of it's European operations.
I would, too - endless Guinness on tap.
And finally, oh good grief. This
is just way too idiotic for words. "Three House
office buildings changed the name of "french fries"
to "freedom fries, in a culinary rebuke of France
stemming from anger over the country's refusal to support
the U.S. position on Iraq".
Hope they're made from Patriotic Potatoes.
Saddam Salt is right off the menu.

anyone who missed it, The

More
on the Google aquisition of Pyra (from inside the
Googleplex - well, a photo anyway) and taking blogging
to the "next level". I think that means "make
money".
Finally, Google
toolbar updated
