Yahoo have changed their express submit option.

Google removes results on it's local search engines for over a hundred sites that might be illegal under French and German law.

Yahoo in janitorial dispute.

Read this: we guarantee you'll laugh out loud (really)

And finally today, the very strange world of weebl and jolt. (Thanks to Andy at MakeMeTop for the tip)

Webmasterworld are running a Google update competition. Correctly guess the time and date and win a Google mousemat.

Google to online advertisers: stop scaring users. We fully agree - place the user first. Enough already with those damn pop-ups.

Profit problems ahead for Overture, so say executives. However, third-quarter earnings beat analysts' expectations.

Good golly, Kim. (See Tuesday, October 22, 2002 entry) People are going to start talking :)

Guess who's number #1 for the term "stoned chicks"

And finally today, Rubick's cube in Flash.

It's a blip on the horizon. Someone called Bob is watching closely. Everyone with a business model that relies on the whims of a silicon valley upstart is watching closely. That man Sullivan is probably not watching closely as he's still proping up a bar somewhere. It's the Google update and it's due soon. Be afraid. Or be not afraid.

These guys at the Register are too funny. Google sued by search "optimism" company. Never a truer word said.

And finally today, worthless word of the day is....

We're in a self reflexive mood today. We've noted that the world is now chock full of search engine blogs. Golly. How many does the world need?

Also, Search Day has begun reporting on the discussion forums. We'll it's about time :) We've always found the best SE news and information comes out of the forums, not to mention some of the most unadulterated, idiotic garbage. For those who haven't visited, try jumping into these: www.webmasterworld.com, cre8asite.com, ihelpyouservices.com, .

We laughed and laughed. This is so true. (Thanks to Kim at cre8asite for the tip)

Self-Googling. Search thyself.

Traffick are on a roll with this "the seo is turning into something else" lark. Part design, part marketing, part....whatever the new buzz word is today. Truth is that the traditional SEO died long ago, or should have. After all, what possible use are rankings without a marketing plan? A boost for the ego, perhaps, but if rankings don't translate into business, they're worthless. We're in the marketing business, rightly so. (thanks to web design goddess and Harley walker Sophie for the tip)

And finally today, guess the dictator or the tv sitcom character.

We're not going to speculate on a specific law suit filed against a rather popular search engine on Thursday (well, not yet anyway), however readers interested in the "PR incident" should head over to the search engine forums to see what's up.

We should remember that law suits against search services are nothing new. Slashdot reported this one against Google back in...erm October.

Lawmeme has a few choice words....from both sides.

Is it just us, or does anyone else find Overture's minimum monthly spend annoying?

A look at Yahoo's Overture economy. Seems the world is waking up to the power of search engine marketing and realising the myth of banner ads, as outlined in this article.

And finally today, Big Bird makes bid for freedom.
